This Institute was named after Late Shri. Kanwar Durga Chand, who was an active politician and social worker. He was the member of Lok Sabha from 1977 -1979 representing Kangra Parliamentary Constituency of Himachal Pradesh, he was also the member of Himachal Pradesh Legislative assembly from 1967-1977.This institute was established in the year 2007 by the Department of Technical Education, Vocational & Industrial Training, Government of Himachal Pradesh with the aim to provide vocational training to large number of Rural youth . The institution is situated near by Balakrupi Mandir on Sujanpur- Palampur Road......
To offer a technical courses to cater to the needs of industry and society. To mould students to be disciplined, competent, and socially responsible technicians, who will be assets to our nation's human resource pool.
